Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how ORVLI ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use Somnia: Dream Insights (the "App"), visit the Somnia website, or contact us. Dream content can be deeply personal, so this notice distinguishes information kept on your device from information sent to service providers when you request an online feature.

1. Information We Handle

Information stored on your device

  • Dream text, titles, dates, moods, tags, lucid-dream and nightmare indicators
  • Voice-note references, AI interpretations, and generated-image references associated with a dream
  • App settings, language, theme, privacy preferences, and purchase-entitlement state

The current release stores dream records in the App's local device storage. It does not provide dream cloud sync.

Anonymous installation and technical information

The App may use Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous installation identifier. It may register that identifier in Supabase together with the device platform, App version, and last-seen time. This helps operate the App and recognize an installation without asking you to create a named account.

Information you choose to provide

We handle the content you submit when you request an AI interpretation or visualization, export or share a dream, contact support, or make a privacy request. Apple or Google processes purchase and payment details; ORVLI does not receive your full payment-card number.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide the journal, AI interpretation, visualization, purchase, advertising, notification, and support features you request
  • Maintain an anonymous installation identity and restore eligible entitlements
  • Protect the App, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and comply with law
  • Understand and honor your settings, permissions, and privacy requests

The analytics and training-data controls currently save your preference locally. ORVLI does not currently upload dream content for model training.

3. AI Processing

When you request an interpretation, the App sends your dream text and selected interpretation context over HTTPS to Alibaba Cloud Model Studio. When you request a visualization, the App sends the dream text or a prompt derived from it so the provider can generate an image. AI output may also be processed and saved with the corresponding dream on your device.

Do not submit information you do not want processed by an AI provider. Alibaba Cloud's handling, security, and retention practices are governed by its Model Studio Privacy Notice and applicable service terms.

4. Advertising and Tracking Permission

Eligible free-tier users may see ads provided by Google AdMob. Depending on your platform, region, consent choices, and device settings, Google may process device information, advertising identifiers, IP address, ad interactions, and diagnostics to deliver, measure, secure, or personalize ads.

On iOS, the App requests permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before allowing tracking that requires permission. You may decline the request or later change it in device settings. Declining does not necessarily remove ads; it may limit personalization. Premium or ad-removal entitlements suppress Somnia's in-app ads where described in the purchase screen.

5. Third-Party Services and Sharing

We disclose information only as needed to operate requested features, comply with law, or protect rights and safety. Current service categories include:

  • Firebase Authentication for anonymous installation identity
  • Supabase for limited installation-registration data
  • Alibaba Cloud Model Studio for AI text and image processing
  • Google AdMob for advertising to eligible free-tier users
  • Apple App Store or Google Play for purchases, subscriptions, billing, and refunds
  • Device and operating-system services for optional notifications, microphone, photo-library access, biometrics, sharing, and tracking permission

Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy notice. ORVLI does not sell dream content.

6. Storage, Retention, and Deletion

Local dream records remain on your device until you delete individual records, use Settings → Data Management → Delete All, or remove the App, subject to device backups and operating-system behavior. You may export a JSON copy before deletion.

Anonymous installation-registration data and support correspondence may be retained while needed to operate the App, respond to you, secure the service, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. AI, advertising, store, and platform providers apply their own retention rules. To request deletion of ORVLI-controlled server records associated with your anonymous identifier, contact us; we may need information from your App to locate the record.

7. Permissions and Your Choices

Microphone, photo-library, notification, biometric, and tracking permissions are optional and controlled through your device. Some features will not work without their related permission. You can:

  • Export or delete dream records in Settings → Data Management
  • Decline or revoke optional permissions in device settings
  • Manage App Store or Play Store subscriptions in your store account
  • Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection where applicable law grants those rights

8. Security and International Processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted HTTPS connections for network requests. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Providers may process information in countries other than where you live, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

Somnia is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, email us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, providers, or law. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice in the App when required.
